Interested in joining us on the Accreditation Committee when a vacancy arises?
Application Process
Some of our candidates must be nominated by their organization (CCPUP, NACEP, CPTR, CPA, education program) and others can put their own name forward for consideration (recent graduate, public members, those with accreditation experience in another profession).
If you are nominated by your organization to join the committee, your role at the Accreditation Committee table is to provide the perspective of that organization, not to serve as the organization’s representative.
When a vacancy arises, a call for applications or nominations is circulated. Submissions are reviewed and the name of the individual who best matches the committee’s needs is put forward to the Board of Directors for appointment.
Time Commitment
The term of office for each position is three years, renewable twice for a maximum of nine years. This is a working committee, and members are expected to prepare for meetings by reviewing materials and drafting reports related to accreditation and progress reviews. The time commitment between meetings is typically two to three days, depending on the agenda.
While the work is rigorous, it is also highly rewarding. The discussions are collegial, and we foster strong professional relationships through social and educational activities during our in-person meetings. The high retention rate, with most eligible members serving the full nine-year term, is a testament to the positive and collaborative environment.
