Uriel is a dedicated physiotherapist and leader with a diverse background in clinical practice, academia, and regulation. After graduating from the Université de Montréal with a degree in physiotherapy, he began his career in rehabilitation before transitioning to acute care in British Columbia.
Driven by a passion for evidence-based practice, Uriel earned a Master of Rehabilitation Science from McGill University, where his research was subsequently published. His clinical expertise is further enriched by experience in long-term care and internal medicine. To broaden his impact on healthcare systems, he also completed a Master of Public Administration.
As a lecturer, Uriel has developed and taught new curricula in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and critical thinking for universities in Quebec. In his role as Deputy Registrar and Inspector at the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec, he was instrumental in designing and implementing a licensure program for internationally trained physiotherapists. This significant contribution earned him the prestigious Award of Distinction from the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators.
Uriel’s leadership is demonstrated by his ability to motivate peers, synthesize information, develop strategies, and implement solutions. He is a collaborative team player known for his positive demeanor which is based in humor and team spirit.
